Since coming to national prominence after his Top-6 finish on the 2007 series on Australian Idol, Daniel Mifsud instantly became one of the most in demand performers in the Sydney A-List event circuit. His musical versatility has seen him used for a variety of different social and corporate events around the country.
Featuring as the guest performer at the Zeta Belvedere White Christmas event at the Sydney Hilton, Daniel received rave reviews from not only the event‟s producer Sara Bray, but from The Sun-Herald‟s Amy Cooper and The Daily Telegraph‟s Kate Waterhouse.
“Daniel Mifsud climbed onto the bar in a white top hat and tuxedo and walked along it, crooning Winter Wonderland, which I think should henceforth only ever be sung while walking along a bar. He did Jingle Bell Rock and white snow fluttered down on everyone’s heads as we cheered and hugged and felt the festive spirit.”- Amy Cooper, The Sun-Herald, December 16, 2007.
“…and if that wasn’t enough, Australian Idol finalist performed Winter Wonderland and Jingle Bell Rock atop the long stretch bar under a shower of glitter that fell like snow from the ceiling. He looked suave in all-white, complete with top hat and a cognac glass!” - Kate Waterhouse, The Sunday Telegraph, December 16, 2007.
Daniel also earned the praise of one of Sydney‟s toughest social journalists, Ros Reines, after playing at The Daily Telegraph‟s 2007 Christmas event on the rooftop of the Aurora Hotel.
“Following David Campbell…Idol finalist Daniel Mifsud also played and actually got people up dancing - a miracle!” - Ros Reines, Sunday Telegraph, December 23, 2007.
In March 2008, Daniel was chosen as a Golden Slipper Ambassador alongside Ryan Phelan (Fox Sports), model Ali Mutch, Australian Water Ski champion and Foxtel presenter Lauren Eagle throughout The Golden Slipper Festival, in which he performed the national Anthem before a live Channel 9 national audience.
In June 2008, Daniel was invited to play and perform “I Still Call Australia Home” as the special guest for GQ magazine editor, Grant Pearce‟s farewell event, to which he received a rousing standing ovation from the crowd.
Daniel has also performed for Star City‟s Camp Quality „Host a Family‟ and numerous CanTeen corporate fundraising events that have generated more than $250,000 worth of financial support.
Apart from corporate events, Daniel has been writing his debut album, while also touring with Ricki-Lee Coulter and American Jazz Legends „The HeadHunters‟ (from which he received an invitation to record in the US). He was also invited to perform at a “Black Saturday” benefit concert alongside Kasey Chambers, Shannon Noll, Beccy Cole and Australian entertainment icon Col Joye to raise money for Victoria‟s Bushfire Victims.
In his time before Australian Idol, Daniel was also an accomplished backing vocalist, performing at events such as Carols in the Domain and the Red Cross Royal Gala (for Prince Frederick and Princess Mary of Denmark) for the likes of Guy Sebastian, Ross Wilson, Marcia Hines, Alex Lloyd, Young Divas and Jade MacRae.
